Solar Power World magazine just announced its list of the Top Solar Contractors in 2017. Guess who made the cut; SWT Energy achieved a rank of 497 out of 500 solar companies.
Produced annually, the Top Solar Contractors list celebrates the achievements of U.S. solar developers, subcontractors and installers within the utility, commercial and residential markets. The list recognizes the work completed by solar contractors across the United States with special attention to solar contractors working to increase adoption of solar power in the 11 states identified by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) as particularly challenging to work in. SWT Energy is proud to be named one of the top solar contractors in the United States by Solar Power World magazine.
“The 2017 Top Solar Contractors list features 500 of the best solar contractors in the United States,” said Kelly Pickerel, managing editor of Solar Power World. “From solar hotbeds on the coasts to the up-and-coming Midwest solar market, every installer adding even the smallest solar array to the grid is making a positive impact on our communities. We’re proud to recognize these companies and their efforts to bring solar power to U.S. homes and businesses.”
The U.S. solar market installed more than 14,700 MW of solar in 2016, nearly doubling the capacity installed in 2015. For the first time ever, solar was ranked as the No. 1 source of new electric generating capacity additions brought online throughout the year. GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) predict the cumulative U.S. solar market to nearly triple in size over the next five years. By 2022, more than 18 GW of solar photovoltaic capacity will be installed annually, and SWT Energy will continue to be a major player in adding solar to the grid.
Since it’s founding in 2006, SWT Energy’s installations have generated more than 1,600 megawatt-hours of electricity. SWT Energy was the first solar contractor in Nebraska to contribute over 1 megawatt of capacity to the electrical grid. SWT Energy has survived Nebraska’s slow adoption of renewable energy by providing systems that generate more power with less downtime at a lower cost per watt than the industry average. This track record of success combined with a total of 1,150 kilowatts installed solidified SWT Energy’s rank among the Top 500 Solar Contractors.
Company President and Founder, Randy Schantell said upon hearing the news, “It is nice to be recognized for the work we’ve done over the years. There’s so much potential for solar power in Nebraska. Our installations at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and the 300kW Dairy House for Lazlo’s Restaurant and Brewery parent company, Telesis are really just scratching the surface of what’s out there. Its an exciting time for solar, I’m proud to be a part of it.”
2017 is shaping up to be another record breaking year. We are on-track to install more than 1 megawatt of capacity this year and our customers make it possible. Now more than ever, its a great time to "Go Solar" with the most trusted name in solar power, SWT Energy!
